Nationalism and the Creation of Italy

Nationalism is the belief that one's greatest loyalty should not be to a king or an empire but to a nation of people who share a common culture and history.  People of the U.S. are very nationalistic, they hang flags celebrate american holidays, and take place in american past time's.
Im nationalistic when i celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving or The Fourth of July.  Also during special events like the olympics I cheer on american competitor's.
Nationalism began in Italy when citizens got tired of being ruled by various Austrians.  The people decided they wanted to become one nation independent from Austria.  Italy became a nation state with the help of Camillo di Cavour a Sardinian king who claimed northern italy and Garibaldi the man who liberated southern Italy.  The two parts of Italy were finally united as Cavour ruled over them.

Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolutions.

Simon Bolivar a famous South American general liberated most of the land during The Latin Revolution.  Bolivar born on July 24, 1783 in Caracas, Venezuela lived there before traveling through Europe.  After his home Caracas being invaded Bolivar returned and joined a group know as the patriots.  Later on in 1813 Bolivar and his army seized control and freed Caracas.  Forced to escape into New Granada he rose to gather another army in which he used to capture Bogota in 1814.  The patriots lacking necessities was defeated and forced once again to retreat, this time into Jamaica.  In Haiti he rounded up men and took control of Angostra in which he later became dictator.  Liberating territory all over South America from the spaniards now known as Ecuador, Colombia, Panama and Venezuela.
Becoming the first president in December of 1819 Bolivar continued defeating the spanish army.  Bolivar was later named as dictator of Peru.  Peru separated into two states, upper Peru being renamed as Bolivia after the glorious Bolivar.
